Swan wing doors rise up as they open, providing more space for entry and exit and avoiding low kerbs.
The term was coined by Aston Martin on the introduction of this type of door on the DB9 in 2003. They have since been seen on other Aston Martin models, including the V8 Vantage, V12 Vantage and Rapide.
